Job Description

Konecranes is a global leader in industrial lifting solutions, providing advanced cranes, hoists, and material handling systems to customers across manufacturing, energy, ports, and heavy industry. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of complex mechanical systems used in overhead cranes and lifting equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on senior-level engineer who enjoys detailed mechanical design, working closely with manufacturing and project teams, and seeing products move from concept through installation and service in real-world industrial environments.
Salary:
90-100k
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components and systems for cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using CAD tools Perform engineering calculations related to structural integrity, load handling, and mechanical performance Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and project teams to support product builds and installations Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analysis for mechanical issues Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, safety, and cost reduction Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations (OSHA, CMAA, FEM, ISO, etc.)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Senior-level mechanical design experience in industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or capital equipment Strong CAD experience (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) Experience with structural components, power transmission, welded assemblies, or rotating equipment Ability to work cross-functionally in a manufacturing and project-based environment Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor with ownership of design deliverables
