Mechanical Drafter

PowerTec Distribution & Motor Control Corporation (formerly Arizona Electrical Apparatus) is looking for a Mechanical Drafter . Incorporated in 1996, PowerTec has evolved into a leading service and equipment provider in the power distribution industry. We provide services to mining, oil and gas, and utility companies. Essential Duties Create or modify 3D models and engineering drawings for the manufacturing department. Design and analyze components to improve performance and solve recurrent problems/reduce cost. Collaborate with engineers and peers to troubleshoot design issues and discrepancies. Document the mechanical aspects of our products and enhancements. Create and update installation, assembly, and perform stress analysis. Liaison with production/fabrication team to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Knowledge and ability to use SolidWorks®. Ability to comprehend and follow directions. Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA. Education/Experience High School Diploma and five years of working with CAD and two years of working directly with SolidWorks®. Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electro-mechanical Engineering. Preferred two-years' experience working with SolidWorks®. Physical Requirements Ability to work in extreme temperatures including over 100 degrees and under 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to traverse uneven terrain, warm surfaces, and cold surfaces. Ability to squat, kneel, and lay prone for extended periods of time. Ability to travel for up to five days a week. Able to and comfortable working in confined spaces.
