Full-time Summary:
Primarily responsible for operating, maintaining, and advancing 3D printing and CNC machining capabilities across the organization, including tooling design, fabrication, and process improvement engineering. Secondarily supports estimating, production cost analysis, and CAD design functions as needed. Must be a self-starter and be able to function autonomously with little supervision.
Essential Duties:
Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required. Operate, program, and perform routine and preventive maintenance on 3D printing and CNC machining equipment Develop innovative solutions to new tooling production using 3D printing, CNC machining, and related technologies Manage tooling production from drawing to finished product, with primary execution via 3D printing and CNC machining Implement and integrate 3D printing and CNC capabilities into current production processes Research, spec out, and select machining/fabrication equipment to create process improvements and generate cost savings. Such equipment may include the following: CNC machines, Plasma/Waterjet tables, 3-D printers Work with outside vendors on tooling design as well as equipment maintenance and improvement to keep up with industry standards. Spend time on the shop floor and in the tooling shop to develop a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling requirements. Visit customers in the field to view, measure, and improve potential and current products in the field Fill-in support for CAD design and engineering drawings as needed Fill-in support for quoting and estimating manufactured products as needed Fill-in support for closing the feedback loop between job estimating and actual costs to track profitability and identify cost saving opportunities Aid Project Managers in material take offs and drawing for on-site and off-site projects
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience:
  • 3-D printing experience required
  • CNC machining experience required
  • CAD/CAM experience preferred
  • Cost analysis and cost reduction experience preferred
  • Professionalism, diplomacy and tact to portray Company in a positive manner
  • Ability to read, interpret and produce engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Strong follow up skills
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Valid Driver's License
  • must be able to produce on demand
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
