Job Description

Job Overview OMNI Products Inc, a leading manufacturer of railroad crossing solutions, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineer/Draftsman to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing precise technical drawings, schematics, and system designs that support projects from initial concept through final completion. Working closely with our team, you will translate complex mechanical and systems concepts into accurate CAD models and documentation, ensuring clarity and consistency across all phases of design and production Responsibilities Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor, to support project specifications and design intent. Support operations with working drawings for plant production. Review all new job orders for accuracy and conformance to specifications. Custodian of the drawing catalog and database. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to assemble complete submittal packages, including plan drawings, hardware drawings, structural drawings, QA Manual, Inspection, and Test Plans. Review bid requests, specifications, and drawings to determine the appropriate product. Communicate directly with customers and suppliers on complex projects to clarify aspects that are undefined. Assemble Bills of Materials and provide project cost estimates. Design tooling and obtain competitive pricing from vendors. Design, prototype, and test new products and processes. Collaborate with Sales on product bulletins, and installation instructions Requirements Demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering drafting or design, supported by a strong portfolio of CAD projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor is required. Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation, detailed reports, and accurate design specifications. Proven ability to interpret complex technical drawings and translate them into precise, production-ready CAD models. A solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles; prior experience in railroad-related drafting or design is highly desirable. Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required by project needs.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
