Job Description

About the Role At Delta Designs Ltd., you will play a key role in designing smart, efficient storage solutions that help institutions preserve and organize valuable collections. We are seeking a Technical Project Designer to support the development of custom archival storage systems. This role focuses on drafting, layout development, and technical design coordination using established product systems and custom configurations. You will translate project requirements into accurate drawings and practical layouts based on architectural floorplans. Key Responsibilities Interpret architectural and construction drawings to develop layouts and product configurations Configure custom storage solutions based on project requirements, space, and collection needs Develop layouts, elevations, and technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor Assist with evaluating spatial constraints and basic load considerations Prepare drawing packages, material takeoffs, and supporting documentation Support quotation development with accurate layouts and quantity calculations Coordinate with project managers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders Revise designs based on feedback and manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and deadlines Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering, or equivalent technical education Minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical design (e.g., structural steel or engineered storage systems), preferably within manufacturing, architectural systems, storage, millwork, or custom fabrication Understanding of structural design principles and basic load considerations Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor Experience with architectural floorplans, layouts, elevations, and detailed drawing packages Ability to interpret and analyze drawings and solve design challenges Strong analytical thinking, spatial reasoning, and attention to detail Effective communication and organizational skills; able to work within drafting standards Why Join Us Work on unique, custom-engineered solutions with real-world impact Competitive base salary ($55,000 - $70,000) 401(k) retirement plan eligibility after one year of employment 100% employer-paid health insurance; 50% coverage for up to two dependents Dental and vision insurance available, employer-paid life insurance Paid Time Off Company-provided laptop Discretionaire bonus
