Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Assistant / Draftsman to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will support the design and development of mechanical and system projects by creating precise technical drawings, schematics, and 3D models. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring accurate project documentation, facilitating seamless communication between design and construction teams, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with industry codes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in mechanical design, CAD drafting, and technical documentation within a collaborative environment that values innovation and precision. Responsibilities Prepare detailed 2D drawings, schematics, and assembly layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or Pro/ENGINEER. Develop 3D models and system designs to support project planning and execution. Assist in creating technical documentation aligned with ASME codes & standards for mechanical components and systems. Collaborate with engineers to interpret design concepts and translate them into accurate drawings and schematics. Review design drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Support construction teams by providing clear technical drawings and revisions as needed during project execution. Create, review, and release work instructions and part templates for the plant fabrication team. Utilize software tools like Bluebeam, NavisWorks, Auto
CAD, FEA
(Finite Element Analysis), and 2D animation to enhance project visualization and review processes. Skills Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or Pro/ENGINEER. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and system design processes. Knowledge of drafting standards such as GD&T and familiarity with ASME codes & standards. Experience with technical writing for creating clear documentation and schematics. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions accurately. Familiarity with construction processes related to mechanical systems installation. Basic knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis), 2D animation, assembly procedures, and system modeling techniques. Pay:
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour
