Job Description

Mechanical Drafter Full-Time | Youngsville, LA | On-Site Mid-Level (3-5 Years Preferred) About Us Founded in 1987, Evans Equipment & Environmental is the only national company specializing in custom-built wash water recycling systems and industrial wash equipment — offering a complete, end-to-end solution with a single point of contact. With offices across Louisiana and Texas and service routes spanning 48 states, we take complete responsibility for a high quality, worry-free build out for every client we serve. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Drafter to join our growing team in Youngsville. This role supports our engineering and fabrication operations by producing accurate technical drawings and documentation across a range of project types. The ideal candidate is proficient in SolidWorks, takes ownership of their work, and can manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed mechanical drawings including equipment fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and custom equipment design documentation Produce and maintain as-built and record drawings throughout project lifecycles Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication crews to translate design intent into accurate technical drawings Revise drawings based on field markups, engineering changes, or client feedback Organize and maintain drawing files and document control logs Support multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines Ensure all drawings comply with applicable standards and internal quality requirements
Qualifications Required:
Proficiency in SolidWorks (part modeling, assemblies, and drawing packages) 3-5 years of drafting experience in a mechanical, industrial, or equipment fabrication environment Ability to read and interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and field markups Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy Effective communication and the ability to work within a team environment
Preferred:
Experience in oil & gas, environmental services, or industrial fabrication industries Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Associate's degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field Experience with document control or drawing management systems Prior experience in Oracle NetSuite a plus •Pay is dependent on experience - exempt salary All interested candidates must be able to pass required drug test (breath, urine and/or hair follicle), medical physical, motor vehicle record check, and full history background check.
