Job Description

Engineering Technician Motor Appliance Corporation (MAC), a leader in the design and manufacture of high-quality electric motors and battery chargers for industrial and military applications, is seeking a talented and driven Engineering Technician to join our team in Washington, MO. About Motor Appliance Corporation For over 70 years, MAC has been designing and manufacturing advanced technology electric motors, including AC motors, brushless DC motors, and battery chargers. We pride ourselves on creating custom solutions that exceed customer expectations for performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Position Overview The Engineering Technician supports the design, development, and testing of specialized electric motors and power generation products. This role requires high proficiency in CAD software and laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities Design & Drafting :
Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create and modify detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of motor components, housing, and assemblies.
Prototyping :
Assist in the assembly and wiring of prototype AC motors and Brushless DC (BLDC) motors.
Performance Testing :
Conduct dynamometer testing and electrical characterization to verify torque, speed, efficiency, and thermal limits.
Documentation :
Maintain accurate engineering change notices (ECNs) and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for the manufacturing team.
Collaboration :
Work closely with the engineering team to optimize motor designs for "manufacturability" and cost-efficiency.
Technical Requirements Software Skills :
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D layouts) and SolidWorks (3D modeling/assemblies).
Electrical Skills :
Ability to read schematics and use precision measurement equipment.
Mechanical Skills :
Experience with CNC machining and use of precision measurement equipment.
Qualifications Education :
Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (Electrical or Mechanical) or 3+ years of equivalent industrial experience.
Industry Experience :
