Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Designer 4 for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
o Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. o Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. o Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. o Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. o Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o Seeking an individual with a background in Pipe, Mechanical, machinery and HVAC Design and who is also proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite. o A complete understanding of ship design practices and blueprint reading skills are required. o Applicant will be directly involved in the Quality Assurance and development of Marine drawings and other products associated with U.S. Naval ship modifications and overhauls. o Applicant will also be responsible for ensuring all technical requirements are fully completed into deliverable products while following applicable procedures and standards. o Familiarity with all components of US Navy Pipe, Mechanical, Machinery and HVAC is preferred. o One that possess an understanding in ship design, blueprint reading and Quality Assurance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline.
WORK HOURS
Full-Time 5/40, workweek 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.
