Job Description

Position Summary Interfacing with cross functional teams, this Research and Development Mechanical Drafter provides department support for creation of new and revisions to existing solid models and drawings, Responsible for the creation and compliance of design control documentation in the PLM System (Agile) Principal Responsibilities
  • Create models from existing detailed drawings and parts utilizing existing drawings, CT Scans of existing and dimensioning existing parts.
  • Perform reverse engineering from point cloud data for legacy components that do not currently have models or detailed drawings.
  • Prepare dimensional drawings and more complex drawings.
  • Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with associated team members to ensure consistent documentation of the project.
  • Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation if service is requested by the application engineer or project manager.
  • Revise and update drawings to ensure consistent documentation of the project.
  • Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters for future reference.
  • Other duties as required relating to CAD database maintenance, PDM, etc Education / Experience Requirements
Education:
Associate degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field.
    Experience:
    Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience: or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
    • Proficient in SolidWorks software (2019 & 2023).
    • Knowledge of
    ASME Y14.5 2018, Y14.1 2020, Y14.2
    2014 and
    Y14.3 2012
    • Experience with point cloud data and manipulation
    • Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, listening, oral and written.
    • Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Micorsoft Office.
    • Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications.
    • Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures.
    • Able to work with minimal supervision, efficently schedule and manage time.
    • Ideally has worked within SolidWorks PDM system in the past.
