Mechanical Desginer Engtal - 5.0 Raleigh, NC Job Details Full-time $92,842.55 - $130,810.39 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Fanuc System testing Materials handling Manufacturing Sensors Full Job Description Mechanical Drafter Custom Automation & Machinery Join a growing engineering team designing custom automation equipment, robotic systems, and special-purpose machinery for manufacturing customers across a range of industries. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning engineering concepts into detailed manufacturing drawings and seeing their designs become real machines on the shop floor. You'll work closely with mechanical engineers, controls engineers, and fabrication teams to develop accurate 3D models, assemblies, and production-ready documentation. What you'll be doing Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks Develop assembly drawings, fabrication packages, and BOMs for custom machinery Update and revise existing machine designs based on engineering changes Support mechanical engineers with layout development and component integration Create detailed part drawings for machining, fabrication, and assembly teams Maintain drawing standards, revision control, and engineering documentation Assist with machine build reviews and resolve drawing-related issues during assembly Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable What we're looking for Strong SolidWorks experience in a manufacturing or machinery environment Experience creating detailed fabrication and assembly drawings Understanding of mechanical components, manufacturing processes, and machine construction Ability to interpret engineering concepts and convert them into production-ready documentation Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Nice to have Experience with custom machinery, automation equipment, or machine building Familiarity with sheet metal, weldments, machined components, and mechanical assemblies Experience creating BOMs and managing engineering documentation Understanding of pneumatics, conveyors, robotics, or automated equipment Associate's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
