Wilmington, NC Work model: Onsite Job title: Mechanical Designer Employment type: Full-Time Clearance requirement: DOE Q Clearance DeMase Technical Services is hiring two onsite Mechanical Designers in Wilmington, NC, to work with mechanical engineers to perform detailed mechanical designs using software, such as SolidWorks. You will create detailed process/equipment designs and assemblies for advanced engineering projects. This role requires an active DOE Q security clearance (or equivalent DoD TS). Key responsibilities include:
Develops CAD models; Produces detailed 3D models, component layouts, and manufacturing-ready 2D drawings for complex mechanical process systems and equipment/components; Performs design duties on a sensitive project involving classified information while strictly adhering to federal government security protocols; Partners with cross-functional engineering teams to review designs, ensure manufacturability, and resolve engineering constraints; and Maintains accurate design history files, revision logs, and technical data packages in accordance with applicable standards. Basic qualifications Minimum of three years of professional experience in mechanical drafting and design Associate's degree or certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field High proficiency in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD design package (3D modeling, surfacing, and drawing creation) Active U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q Security Clearance or Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Security Clearance Capable of working onsite daily in Wilmington, NC, in a secure, highly-regulated facility Preferred skills/qualifications Five-plus years of professional experience in mechanical drafting and design, preferably in SolidWorks or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field Experience with both mechanical and electrical designs is a plus Pay Range:
