Job Title:
Electrical Drafter Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Drafter to support the production of high-quality construction documents for electrical systems. This role is heavily focused on AutoCAD drafting, sheet setup, and drawing coordination, with exposure to MEP electrical systems and opportunities to grow within a collaborative design environment. Responsibilities Prepare and modify electrical construction documents using AutoCAD. Set up drawing files, manage X-references, and maintain proper layer standards. Insert and coordinate external files, backgrounds, and details into AutoCAD drawings. Perform sheet setups, plotting, and organization of full construction drawing sets. Assist with drafting of electrical plans, diagrams, and details for MEP projects. Collaborate with engineers and designers to incorporate markups and revisions. Maintain drawing accuracy, organization, and adherence to internal CAD standards. Support coordination efforts across disciplines as needed. Essential Skills High proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical drafting. Strong experience with X-referencing files, locating and managing layers. Experience in inserting external drawings and details. Sheet setup and construction document organization. Ability to read and interpret redlines and design markups. Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy. Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with MEP electrical systems (power, lighting, low voltage, etc.). Exposure to or working knowledge of Revit. Previous experience supporting electrical engineers or MEP design teams. Familiarity with construction document standards and workflows. Work Environment This role offers the flexibility of working remotely with the exception of on-site work required on Thursdays. The work schedule includes Monday to Thursday with 9-hour days, with flexible start times from 7 AM to 9 AM, and half days on Fridays from 8 AM to 12 PM. The position provides an opportunity to work on exciting semiconductor, data center, and healthcare projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
