We excel in process design, safety analysis, project engineering, and technical staff augmentation, working collaboratively across chemical, mechanical, civil, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines. Position Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the development of complex mechanical systems and equipment for industrial and government (DoD/DOE) projects. This role focuses on producing high-quality 3D models, fabrication packages, and plant layouts while ensuring compliance with ASME codes and applicable Federal, State, and Local standards, including DOE Orders. A strong working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D is essential for success in this role, particularly for plant layout, piping systems, and equipment modeling in highly regulated environments. Key Responsibilities Produce 3D equipment models and build-to-print fabrication packages for specialty and first-of-a-kind equipment using CAD software (Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D required) Develop plant, facility, equipment, piping, and site layout general arrangement drawings including elevations, sections, and detailed views Create detailed design and fabrication drawings for plant layouts, process and facility equipment, ASME piping, HVAC, plumbing, and supports Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to design, lay out, and resolve technical issues Interpret and apply Federal (including DOE Orders), State, and Local codes and standards Ensure all designs conform to applicable engineering codes and standards, including ASME Collect and compile field data; support site walkdowns and as-built documentation Assist with material takeoffs, estimates, and procurement documentation Organize and prioritize work to meet project schedules and deadlines Communicate effectively, ask clarifying questions, and contribute to a collaborative team environment Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications Associate degree in a technical field (Mechanical Design, Drafting, or related) 2-4 years of relevant industrial experience (DoD/DOE environment preferred) Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements Demonstrated experience using Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D for mechanical design, plant layout, and piping systems (required) Minimum of 2 years of experience using Inventor and/or SolidWorks for complex mechanical modeling and fabrication drawings Strong knowledge of ASME codes and standards Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local codes and standards, including DOE Orders Demonstrated competence in mechanical design fundamentals, including containment systems and sheet metal equipment Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and interpret technical specifications Ability to meet defined project schedules and manage multiple priorities Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team and hybrid environment Ability to provide examples of prior design work Successful completion of drug screening Must meet
