Mechanical Drafter Job Description Join a dynamic team supporting a critical project at a military baes. As a mechanical modeler, you will bridge the gap left by the previous drafter, focusing on completing and translating existing 3D models into fabrication-ready drawings for launch complex infrastructure. Responsibilities Identify required pipe supports across multiple locations. Determine surface and foundation conditions beneath supports. Translate support requirements into detailed fabrication drawings and schedules. Adjust drawings based on load conditions such as wind, seismic, thermal, and launch/liftoff loads, with guidance provided by engineers. Perform structural Revit modeling in an active 3D project environment. Translate existing Revit models into fabrication-ready drawings. Create drawings and schedules for pipe supports across hundreds of locations. Identify required structural supports and determine surface and foundation conditions. Coordinate closely with Project Engineers and Design Engineers. Participate in design and coordination meetings; may present or explain drawings to the customer as needed. Essential Skills 3-7 years of Revit experience with a strong emphasis on structural Revit. Proven experience converting Revit models into fabrication and construction drawings. Experience creating schedules for multiple support locations, foundation types, and support assemblies. Strong understanding of structural concepts, including plates, supports, foundations, and load paths. Comfortable working in both 2D and 3D Revit environments. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, time-sensitive project. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with infrastructure, industrial, or niche systems projects is preferred but not required. Familiarity with complex piping support systems. Comfort participating in client-facing design discussions. Work Environment This position offers a remote work environment, providing flexibility while contributing to a highly technical and collaborative project setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
