Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Mechanical Designer to join a growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing metal components and assemblies that meet customer specifications, support production efficiency, and maintain high standards of quality and craftsmanship. You will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and customer teams to bring custom projects from concept to completion. Position Overview The Mechanical Designer will create detailed manufacturing drawings, develop production-ready designs, and support fabrication processes. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working in a fast-paced environment, and seeing their designs come to life on the shop floor. Key Responsibilities Create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs and drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) Develop fabrication and assembly drawings for custom metal parts and welded assemblies Collaborate with engineering, project management, and production teams to ensure accurate and efficient manufacturing Modify and revise designs based on customer feedback and technical requirements Interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and customer requirements Support quoting and estimating processes by providing technical input and design recommendations Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and manufacturing best practices Assist with product development, prototyping, and continuous improvement initiatives Create DWG and DXF files for laser cutting, waterjet cutting, and press brake operations Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred Minimum of 3 years of mechanical design or drafting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or fabrication environment Proficiency with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including welding, machining, and metal fabrication Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and collaboration abilities What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Professional growth and advancement opportunities Collaborative and supportive team environment Modern manufacturing facility Comprehensive benefits package Benefits 401(k) 401(k)
