Role Description We are seeking a skilled Mechatronics Systems Engineer for a full-time or part-time on-site position in Torrance, CA. In this role, you will design, develop, and test advanced X-ray inspection systems, contributing to innovative hardware and software solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and analyze X-ray system designs using CAD software Select components for optimizing the system performance, work with suppliers on fabricating custom system components Fabricate prototype parts in-house (e.g., using a mill, lathe, or 3D printer) Assemble prototype systems by integrating mechanical components with actuators and data acquisition hardware, while verifying the system functionality with respect to the design parameters Conduct field testing and demonstrations to validate system performance Collaborate with other team members to meet project milestones and deliver high-quality solutions Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
Qualifications Required:
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in mechanical system design and engineering
Technical Skills:
Hands-on work proficiency, competency in CAD software, excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Collaboration:
Ability to work effectively in a team to achieve project goals.
Preferred:
Proficiency in Python Experience with image acquisition hardware Experience in programming/control of robotic arms Background in aerospace, defense, or related high-tech industries Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and presentations.
