Job Summary IPG interns contribute to meaningful engineering projects in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This internship offers the opportunity to work on the development of a precision electromechanical system, supporting the project from concept generation through design, assembly, controls integration, and testing. The intern will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers and will present project outcomes at the conclusion of the internship. Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical concepts, CAD models, and detailed drawings for a precision tilting system
Build and integrate mechanical, electrical, and control elements into a working prototype
Assist with component selection, fabrication coordination, assembly, and installation
Develop and refine software for system control and operator interaction
Support PLC and HMI implementation where applicable
Perform testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of system functionality
Document design updates, test results, and implementation progress
Present final project results to the team Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field
Completed at least the 3rd year of an engineering degree program by the start of the internship
Experience with CAD for mechanical design and drawing creation
Hands-on experience building, assembling, or prototyping mechanical or electromechanical systems
Programming experience in at least one relevant language such as C/C++ or Python
Interest in controls, automation, HMI, or PLC-based systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Experience with embedded controls, Arduino, LabVIEW, PLCs, or similar platforms
Familiarity with sensors, actuators, motors, and basic electrical integration
Experience supporting prototype testing, troubleshooting, and design improvement Personal Requirements Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with a cross-functional team
Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Quick learner with an aptitude for new systems and technologies
Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
Able to maintain a consistent schedule during standard business hours
Reliable transportation
