Mechanical Designer

Overview We are seeking a Mid to Senior Level Mechanical Designer with strong experience in automation equipment design to support projects in the automotive industry. This role works under a Lead Mechanical Engineer, taking conceptual direction and developing detailed assembly designs for automated systems and production cells. This is not a product design role —we are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience designing automated machinery and manufacturing systems . Key Responsibilities Create detailed assembly drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks Translate engineering concepts into fully detailed automation system designs Design automated equipment, tooling, and production cells for automotive applications Collaborate with Lead Engineers to refine and execute design intent Ensure designs are manufacturable, functional, and meet project requirements Participate in design reviews and implement revisions as needed Required Qualifications Mid to Senior level experience in mechanical design Strong proficiency in SolidWorks Proven experience creating assembly drawings Hands-on experience designing automation systems or automated equipment Background in automotive manufacturing environments Ability to work from concept to detailed design with minimal oversight Highly Preferred Experience designing powertrain assembly systems Prior work on automation cells for GM (General Motors) or similar OEMs Experience with high-volume manufacturing or production line equipment What We're Looking For A true automation designer , not a product designer Someone comfortable working from concepts to complete assemblies Strong attention to detail and ability to execute in a fast-paced environment
