We are seeking a Director, Sensor Engineering, to lead the development of next-generation sensing technologies and build the engineering capabilities that will support future growth across a diverse range of applications and markets. In this role, you will serve as both a technical leader and organizational builder. You will define technology strategy, guide product development, and develop engineering talent, and help shape future investments in sensing technologies. Working closely with product management, operations, and executive leadership, you will drive the development of innovative sensing solutions that combine hardware, firmware, systems engineering, analytics, and manufacturing excellence. Cross-functional leadership across Hardware, Firmware, Systems, Test, Manufacturing, and Product EngineeringWhat Success Looks LIke (First 6-12 Months) Defined and aligned a clear sensor technology roadmap supporting current and future growth opportunitiesBuilt strong partnerships across engineering, product management, manufacturing, quality, and executive leadership teamsStrengthening organizational capability through targeted hiring, coaching, and development of key technical talentEstablished scalable engineering processes, performance metrics, and operating rhythms that improve execution and predictabilityAdvanced multiple sensing technologies and development programs through critical stages of the product lifecycleImproved visibility into technical priorities, risks, and investment opportunities through effective communication and leadershipCreated a culture of technical excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement What You Will Do Define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap for Molex's sensing portfolio, driving innovation across hardware, firmware, sensor fusion, signal processing, calibration, test, and manufacturability.

Lead, develop, and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization spanning engineering managers, hardware engineers, firmware and software engineers, systems engineers, and test and validation teams.

Build the engineering capabilities, technical depth, and organizational structure needed to support a growing sensing business, creating an environment where talent can thrive, innovate, and deliver meaningful business impact.

Guide architecture and design decisions for advanced sensing systems, including transducers (MEMS, optical, acoustic, electromagnetic, and related technologies), analog front-end, ADCs, FPGA/ASIC integration, embedded software, and calibrationPartner closely with product management, systems engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and regulatory teams to define requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver innovative sensing solutions.

Establish scalable engineering processes, development metrics, and best practices that improve execution, reliability, test coverage, product quality, and continuous improvement.

Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent through coaching, mentorship, succession planning, and thoughtful resource allocation.

Lead strategic relationships with suppliers, development partners, and external vendors supporting component technologies, fabrication, testing, and engineering services.

Ensure products meet applicable industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a focus on quality, reliability, and customer success.

Oversee program execution across cost, schedule, technical risk, and resource planning, while effectively communicating priorities, progress, and risks to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, technical rigor, systems thinking, and data-driven decision-making that enables the team to solve complex sensing challenges and create differentiated solutions. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline10+ years of engineering experience developing sensor hardware, systems, or related sensing technologies5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, technical leaders, or engineering managersExperience leading complex product development efforts through design, validation, manufacturing, and launchDeep technical expertise in one or more sensing technologies, including - but not limited to - current, acceleration, magnetic or environmental sensingExperience working cross-functionally to deliver complex technical products and systemsStrong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders What Will Put You Ahead Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical fieldExperience building and scaling global engineering organizations in emerging technology or growth-oriented environmentsExperience developing system-level sensing solutions across hardware, embedded systems, software, analytics, or connected platformsExperience with analog or mixed-signal electronics, signal processing, embedded systems, sensor fusion, or calibration algorithmsExperience bringing sensing technologies into production or high-volume manufacturing environmentsExperience supporting products across automotive, industrial, aerospace, infrastructure, medical, communications, semiconductor, or other technology-focused...
