Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY is currently recruiting for a Electromechanical (Mechatronics) Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty.BROAD FUNCTION
The Engineering Science and Technology Department has a full-time tenure track faculty position open. Major responsibilities of this position include college-level teaching of Electrical and Electromechanical (Mechatronics) courses and laboratories in content areas such as circuit design and analysis, digital electronics, microprocessor, programmable logic controllers, robotics (FANUC and UR), industrial automation, motion and motor control, project management, and other typical electromechanical technical areas. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, curriculum development, participation on committees, and collaboration with colleagues to assess student learning outcomes.Responsibilities:

Be responsive to student questions and available for student support. Use appropriate technology to enhance learning. Assess learning outcomes and adapt curriculum to meet learning objectives. Demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education. Provide appropriate academic advising to students to support timely degree completion. Be innovative in the presentation of lectures and hands-on learning activities that achieve learning outcomes. Provide timely feedback on students' assignments and exams throughout each semester. Appointment at theRank of Instructor:
Associate degree in the subject areas of Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or closely-allied field accredited college, university or foreign equivalency Industry-recognized professional license or certification; and Minimum of five years of full-time related industry experience. Appointment at theRank of Assistant Professor:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely-allied field from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency. Industry-recognized professional license or certification. Minimum of three years of full-time employment in Engineering or closely allied field.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Background in teaching college level courses. Demonstrated connections with local industry.Industrial Experience:

The 2026-2027 starting salary for the rank of Instructor is $54,636 and Assistant Professor is $61,466. Onondaga Community College offers a generous and competitive benefits package including: New York State Teacher's Retirement System or Optional Retirement Savings Program (401(a). As a Public Employer, we participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program for qualified borrowers. The position also offers an attractive academic year schedule with opportunities for additional work during off-hand periods consistent with student enrollment needs and workforce development opportunities. During each fall and spring semester, teaching typically occurs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 10:30 pm. Schedules, including required office hours, are selected in advance for each semester.
