Job Description

Position summary: Milacron Plastics Technologies Group LLC in Batavia, OH, has an opening available for an Associate Controls Architect (Senior Engineer) to lead the architecture design of controls for subsystems of injection molding machines. Work you'll do: Establish engineering goals and development timelines with minimal guidance; Design, implement, and validate control loops for axis control systems; Develop efficient communication protocols for real-time data exchange between system modules; Utilize solid understanding of industrial communication protocols and real-time operating systems (RTOS); Contribute deep system-level understanding of architecture and related integrated development environments; Select and qualify hardware components for control systems based on performance, cost, and reliability criteria; Utilize knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and IIoT integration, including OPC UA and cloud-based data analytics for smart manufacturing environments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a directly related field (foreign equivalent degree accepted). 3 years of experience in plastic processing equipment and auxiliary systems domain. 2 years of experience in each of the following:
C, C++, C
#, and Structured Text (ST); Simulation and modeling tools including Simulink or Matlab; and IIoT integration, including OPC UA and cloud-based data analytics for smart manufacturing environments. 1 year of experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and development of web-based user interfaces for machine control and diagnostics.
