Job Description
Description Engineer - Mechatronics At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We're turning today's impossible into tomorrow's standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features. Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale. Join the ARC Robotics Technology Development team and help turn advanced automation concepts into integrated robotic systems for manufacturing. As an Engineer on the ARC Robotics Technology Development team, you will own the physical integration of electrical and mechanical subsystems within advanced robotics platforms supporting GM Manufacturing Operations. This role focuses on packaging, routing, mounting, harnessing, power distribution implementation, and mechanical interface design for robotic and automated systems including cobots, AMRs, material delivery platforms, and other advanced automation solutions. Justification Critical skills needed to support strategic automation initiatives and technology development across GM Manufacturing Operations. Work Arrangement Hybrid. This role requires the employee to be onsite an average of three days per week. The Role The ARC Robotics Technology Development team develops advanced robotics and automation solutions for GM Manufacturing Operations. The team supports next generation manufacturing and material handling applications by creating systems that can be built, tested, validated, and deployed in real production environments. As an Engineer focused on Electro-Mechanical Integration, you will own the physical implementation of electrical systems within robotic and automated equipment. You will develop solutions for component packaging, cable routing, harnessing, mounting, power distribution implementation, and mechanical interfaces that allow electrical architectures to be realized reliably in the machine. You will work closely with Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Digital Twin and Validation, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to ensure integrated solutions are robust, serviceable, and ready for test and deployment. What You Will Do
