Full Job Description Job Description:
Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company, has an opening for a Project Engineering Geologist (not environmental) in Irvine, California. The successful candidate will manage geotechnical projects, including meeting and interacting with clients, and managing project budgets. The Project Geologist will also coordinate and participate in field activities, including logging of borings, test pits, trenches and cores, down-hole logging, geologic mapping, review of stereoscopic aerial photographs, preparation of geologic cross sections, evaluation of geologic and seismic hazards, forensic evaluation of distressed structures and failed slopes, and preparation of geologic and geotechnical reports. Experience with construction and grading activities, including as-graded geologic mapping, is also desired.Education:
B.S./B.A./M.S.
in Geology or Geological Engineering or related.Required Skills:
The desired candidate will have a bachelors or master's degree and a minimum of four years' experience in geotechnical consulting. The ideal candidate will bring local experience and familiarity with the local geologic conditions. Candidate should be detail oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional Geologist (PG) and/or Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) registrations required.Status:
