Geotechnical Project Engineer 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars Atlanta, GA Hybrid work LVI Associates 5 reviews Geotechnical Project Engineer Atlanta - Georgia About the Opportunity An established and fast-growing consulting engineering firm is looking to add a Geotechnical Project Engineer to its expanding team in Georgia. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact infrastructure projects , particularly across transportation and water/wastewater sectors , supporting both public and private clients. You'll play a key role in delivering projects from proposal through construction , working alongside experienced leadership while helping shape future growth. Key Responsibilities Plan and oversee geotechnical field investigations (SPT drilling, rock coring, CPT, sampling, test pits, etc.) Perform detailed engineering analyses, including: Shallow and deep foundation design Axial and lateral capacity of deep foundations Driven pile analysis (including drivability) Settlement calculations Slope stability and retaining wall design Ground improvement solutions Pavement design Earthwork and compaction specifications Interpret laboratory and field testing data Prepare technical reports, calculations, and construction recommendations Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams Provide construction-phase services , including site visits and foundation observations Review and approve engineering documents (PE required for sealing) Mentor junior engineers and technical staff Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Requirements Minimum Qualifications M.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering Active PE license in Georgia (or ability to obtain within 6 months) 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Proven problem-solving capabilities Professional, collaborative approach Strong focus on safety and quality Preferred Experience Background in heavy civil infrastructure projects (transportation, water, wastewater) Experience with pavement or seismic geotechnical engineering Familiarity with industry software such as: APile, LPile, GROUP, SHAFT GeoStudio / Slide GRLWEAP What's on Offer 100% employee-covered medical plan options HSA plan with company contribution Dental and vision coverage 401(k) with company contribution Company-paid short and long-term disability Life insurance (company paid) Additional voluntary benefits (accident, critical illness, etc.) Ongoing professional development and certification support Generous PTO and paid holidays Why Join?
