We partner with clients nationwide across government (federal, state, and local), transportation, energy, industrial, water, and commercial sectors to tackle complex infrastructure challenges. We are currently seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer to add to our growing geotechnical team. The senior engineer should be capable of overseeing and directing geotechnical investigations for a variety of structures with limited oversight. From major transportation corridors and energy development to critical water resources and infrastructure projects, our work supports resilient communities and sustainable environments. Our clients include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), state agencies, cities, municipalities, and Departments of Transportation. Position Overview Athena Engineering and Environmental, LLC (Athena), headquartered just outside of Nashville, TN, is a dynamic woman-owned small business consulting firm delivering geotechnical, environmental, ecological, water resources, surveying, and value engineering services. We partner with clients nationwide across government (federal, state, and local), transportation, energy, industrial, water, and commercial sectors to tackle complex infrastructure challenges. We are currently seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer to add to our growing geotechnical team. The senior engineer should be capable of overseeing and directing geotechnical investigations for a variety of structures with limited oversight. Job duties will include, but are not limited to, the following environmental investigation activities: Provide technical direction required for production and completion of both routine and complex projects Responsible for the mentoring and training of project and staff engineers/geologists Performing geotechnical analyses for shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, dam/levee embankments, roadways, bridges, airfields, etc. Reviewing geotechnical analyses performed by others Preparing geotechnical reports and proposals for both routine and complex projects Reviewing geotechnical reports and proposals prepared by others Project management of more complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) licensure OSHA 10hour safety training Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word and Excel), Slope/W, Seep/W, OpenGround, gINT, and LPILE software More than 12 years of relevant experience Requirements A bachelor's degree in Civil or Geological Engineering from a fouryear accredited college or university is required Why Join Athena Drilling?
