Demonstrate safety as a value, including oversight of safety for direct reports and contractors. Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the Electrical and Process Controls engineering team, including growth and development of talent. Lead electrical engineering and project delivery across site power distribution (34.5kV through 120/240V), power plant, steam, and cogeneration systems. Own the engineering strategy, standards, and lifecycle roadmap for process control and automation systems
- Foxboro and Siemens DCS, PI/Historian, and associated
PLC/SCADA
platforms. Direct execution of capital projects across the full lifecycle
- planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations support. Ensure projects and designs comply with process safety, ergonomics, MOC, MSHA, OSHA, ISO, NEC, IEEE, the Capital Deployment Process (CDP), and applicable codes and standards. Lead engineering and process standards development and QA/QC of technical and construction work packages. Support short
- and long-term technical planning, capital asset planning, and overall capital planning. Lead and prioritize capital projects within the team to optimize execution, capital efficiency, and reliability across the production units. Manage safety performance within the team, including safety meetings, focus, and training. Lead the migration of legacy Sixnet platforms to Siemens and Procidia
- defining scope, sequencing, cutover, and commissioning to minimize production risk.
Oversee process control engineering and optimization, including PI/Historian administration, control strategy, and tuning. Provide technical leadership for power-distribution and wellfield/solution-mining SCADA systems and load-shed schemes. Review design, drawing, and specification documents for capital efficiency and identify cost-reduction opportunities. Manage contractors and external engineering/construction firms across in-house and EPC delivery. Develop internal talent through coaching, mentorship, performance management, and succession planning. Assist in resolving conflicts, employee issues, and safety concerns to optimize engagement. Information Technology (IT) Coordination This is not an IT position; IT owns the enterprise cybersecurity program. This role owns the OT environment and partners with IT to keep it secure. Identify and define IT requirements for each capital project (network, servers, data, access, security) early in planning. Coordinate with IT so OT-to-IT work is sequenced, integrated, and validated, and so changes do not compromise process safety or availability. Support IT-led activities on the OT network
- segmentation, secure remote access, patching, and backup/recovery
- by providing control-system expertise and scheduling around production.
Support ISO efforts as required. B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Controls/Automation, or related technical field; and 5+ years relevant experience leading multidisciplinary teams required. 10+ years of project management and/or controls engineering experience preferred. Hands-on experience with
DCS/PLC/SCADA
platforms (e.g., Foxboro, Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and industrial network architecture preferred. Experience leading control-system migrations or upgrades preferred. Knowledge of industrial power distribution and applicable codes (NEC, IEEE, MSHA). Working understanding of OT/IT security principles and ability to partner effectively with an IT organization. Highly organized, self-driven, and goal-oriented; proficient in project sequencing, planning, and execution. Working knowledge of scheduling software; SAP preferred.
