About the
Role:
The Ultrasound Student Tech position is designed to provide hands-on clinical experience and technical training in the operation of ultrasound equipment within a non-durable goods manufacturing environment. The primary goal is to support the quality assurance and product inspection processes by performing ultrasound imaging and analysis under supervision. This role involves learning to accurately capture and interpret ultrasound data to detect material inconsistencies or defects, contributing to the manufacturing process's overall safety and efficiency. The student tech will collaborate closely with experienced technicians and engineers to develop proficiency in ultrasound technology applications specific to manufacturing. Ultimately, this position aims to prepare the candidate for a professional career in ultrasound technology by combining practical experience with theoretical knowledge in a real-world industrial setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited ultrasound technology or related technical program. Basic understanding of ultrasound principles and non-destructive testing methods. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions accurately. Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and comply with safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous internship or hands-on experience with ultrasound equipment or non-destructive testing. Familiarity with quality assurance processes in manufacturing settings. Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and best practices. Proficiency in using computer software for data entry and report generation. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently when required.
Responsibilities:
Assist in operating ultrasound equipment to perform non-destructive testing on manufactured products. Capture and document ultrasound images and data for analysis and quality control purposes. Collaborate with senior technicians to interpret ultrasound results and identify potential defects or irregularities. Maintain and calibrate ultrasound devices to ensure accurate and reliable measurements. Participate in training sessions and review technical materials to enhance understanding of ultrasound technology and manufacturing standards.
