Job Summary Designs, develops and implements nondestructive testing (NDT) to evaluate the properties and conformance of a material, component or system without causing damage. Records, analyzes and reports test results. Writes testing plans and maintains test documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements.STRONGLY PREFERRED
NAS 410 Certification Level 3: State or ASNT issued industrial radiographer certificate - Ability to achieve GD-OTS Level 3 certification in alignment with NAS 410 standards, through education, training, and testing, and perform the required Level 3 requirements Impact of the Role General Profile Working supervisor of a team (spends a portion of time performing the work supervised) or supervises the daily activities of production team members Must have one or more of any direct report type Analyses information to solve on-going problems and implements procedures and approaches to complete work Responsible for results of the team Provides direction to team using extensive knowledge of established precedents and practices Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions Participates in the development, implementation and administration of programs and activities within the nondestructive testing function of the organization. Oversees that results are documented in accordance with the specification. Supervises the work of personnel who utilize ultrasound, radiography, or other techniques during the testing process. Supervises findings of equipment and system performance checks and recommends corrective actions. Administers and oversees nondestructive testing procedures, policies, and techniques as necessary. Leads, oversees and tracks NDT training as needed. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Other:

Science Degree in NDT or equivalent training and experience Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Problem-solving skills. Time management skills. Manual dexterity. Non-destructive testing. Physical Requirements Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. This position is Safety-Sensitive.
