Visual Welding Inspector

We are seeking an experienced Visual Welding Inspector to support a large-scale, long-term industrial construction project in Phoenix, AZ. This role focuses on ensuring weld quality and compliance through detailed visual inspections of process piping and structural steel. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, hands-on inspection experience, and the ability to work closely with CWIs and field teams to maintain high-quality standards. What You'll Be Doing Perform visual inspections of welds (root, fill, and cap) alongside CWIs Identify and document weld conditions before, during, and after welding Inspect for surface defects, including cracks, porosity, and undercut Verify joint preparation, material compliance, and weld dimensions Utilize inspection tools such as bridge cam gauges, fillet gauges, calipers, steel rules, and borescopes Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results and findings Support tracking of welder performance and quality trends Coordinate or assist in retraining efforts for welders not meeting specifications Provide recommendations to CWIs and superintendents regarding quality issues or performance concerns What We're Looking For Minimum of 3 years of experience in visual welding inspection Familiarity with stainless steel pipe, HDPE, PPR, or a combination of these materials Experience with structural steel welding visual inspection Ability to complete and interpret WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) Proficient in identifying weld defects and ensuring compliance with specifications

Preferred Qualifications:

NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) experience Certifications from

AWS, CWB

(CSA), or CSWIP are a plus

Schedule:
