The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that products meet stringent quality standards and comply with industry regulations such as ASME Section VIII, Div 1, Section V, Section IX and other relevent
ASME / API
codes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to quality assurance processes, perform precise inspections, and uphold our commitment to excellence across all manufacturing operations. The role requires a strong understanding of quality systems, analysis skills, and proficiency with various measurement and inspection tools. Responsibilities Read and understand drawings, maintain job files, maintain material traceability, check welding procedures, weld maps, and the quality of the welded performed Perform multiple dimensional checks using tape measures, levels, micrometers, calculators, and weld gauges to ensure products meet specifications. Perform visual inspections including inspections of quality of welds, insure correct materials are received and used on the jobs, and monitor hydro testing. Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods or stability samples. Perform non destructive testing including liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, nitron analyzer testing, hardness tests, and T-MIKE testing. Prepare inspection forms, code papers, weld procedures, welder qualifications, and use e-mail on the computerInterpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits. Identify quality problems and recommend solutions Investigate or report questionable test results Maintain relations with shop personnel, customers, co-workers, and supervisor Perform other job-related duties, as assigned Perform quality audits in accordance with ASME to ensure compliance throughout the manufacturing process. Collect and analyze data related to product quality, documenting findings accurately for review and reporting purposes. Ensure adherence to quality management systems (QMS). Identify non-conformances or deviations from specifications; initiate corrective actions as necessary. Assist in maintaining calibration schedules for all measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and vision systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing insights during quality management reviews and participating in root cause analysis. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively. Experience Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years of shop experience required Understand various welding procedures (i.e. GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, etc.) Understand the layout and fitting procedures used in manufacturing jobs Ability to read, write, and understand English effectively, to perform essential job functions, such as reading and interpreting technical documents, to ensure proper documentation for regulatory and quality assurance purposes Familiarity with industry standards including ASME, API, and TEMA Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data accurately and identify trends or issues. Experience conducting quality audits and assessments in compliance with regulatory requirements. Excellent attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
