Job Description Job Description We are seeking a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to support inspection efforts for critical aerospace hardware in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for inspecting tube sub-assemblies supporting advanced propulsion systems. What You'll Get to

  •  Perform surface and volumetric NDT inspections on aerospace components
  •  Support research and development activities related to system qualification and certification for critical processes
  •  Assist in the development and refinement of NDT inspection techniques for complex geometries
  •  Document inspection results and ensure compliance with applicable quality and safety standards

  •  3-7+ years of experience in aviation, aerospace, or similar industry
  •  Experience performing NDT testing within the aerospace industry
  •  Basic understanding of Lean principles: 5S, Kaizen, continuous improvement initiative
  •  Strong understanding of radiographic inspection principles, including X-ray and gamma ray techniques, exposure charts, film characteristics, and digital radiography systems (CR/DR). (RT)
  •  Solid knowledge of metal alloys commonly used in aerospace and manufacturing, including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, nickel-based alloys, and carbon steels.
  •  In-depth understanding of welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, etc.) and related defect mechanisms such as porosity, lack of fusion, inclusions, cracks, incomplete penetration, and undercut.
  •  Familiarity with part design, weld joint configurations, and how component geometry impacts radiographic interpretation and technique selection
  •  Knowledge of NDT Standards such as;
AS, AMS, AWS, NAS, ASME, ASTM
  •  Experience in conducting NDT tasks and interpreting inspection results such as:
  •  Ability to independently set up, calibrate, and perform radiographic inspections using both film and digital systems.
  •  Experience selecting appropriate inspection techniques, exposure parameters, IQIs, and film processing methods across a range of materials and thicknesses.
  •  Strong capability in interpreting radiographic results, identifying discontinuities, and evaluating findings against customer specifications, industry codes, and engineering requirements.
  •  Ability to accurately differentiate true indications from artifacts, including processing defects, scatter, backscatter, and geometric distortion.
  •  Proven experience evaluating weld quality and alloy-specific defect patterns.

  •  Willing to work Monday - Friday onsite in Long Beach (A-shift 5:00am - 1:30pm, 6:00am-2:30pm) Certified in American Welding Society (AWS) or Certified in Welding Inspector (CWI) Experience in improving capability of NDT processes to eliminate escape of non-conforming products, efficiency improvements, productivity, and flow
