Inspector Level 1

SUMMARY:

An inspector 1 is an entry level inspector. Works on basic processes such as cosmetic inspections; OSP verifications; and light dimensional inspection. Works under close supervision from a lead. Performance excellence at this level along with acquired knowledge OJT and self-education will lead to promotions to inspector levels 2,3 and 4. EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read and write English. Ability to perform basic math. Basic computer skills (email, excel…).

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential duty satisfactorily using a pro-active approach. Written or verbal instructions must be followed meticulously. ALL discrepancies must be reported to lead or supervisor and later reported through our NCR system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. No inspection experience required. Must pass the English/math test. 2. Works on basic processes such as cosmetic inspection; OSP verification; and light dimensional inspection. Works under close supervision. 3. Can perform cosmetic in-process inspections as directed by lead. Can also perform final cosmetic inspections. 4. Verifies quality and approves the release of manufactured parts or assemblies based on customer requirements and specifications. 5. Accurately follows instructions on traveler. Signs off completed operations and moves job to next operation. 6. Accurately moves completed jobs in KNT system. 7. Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations as appropriate 8. Responds to written and verbal instructions

Documentation:

1. Completes all required documents and maintains records that pertain to quality control 2. Able to follow all departmental and company policies, processes and procedures. 3. Identifies non-conformances documents and reports it to his/her immediate supervisor.

Skill Level:

1. Basic blue print reading skills (OJT) 2. Basic understanding of GD&T (OJT) 3. Working knowledge of basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, thread gages, pin gages, profileometers, plating thickness instruments... (OJT) 4. Excellent knowledge of customer's Cosmetic Specs. Basic knowledge of industrial, customer's plating specs. (OJT) 5. Participates in some continuous improvement activities 5

1. Maintains adequate supplies and a neat and orderly work area 2. Maintains tools and equipment in proper working order and performs preventative maintenance as required.

Customer:

Maintains the security and confidentiality of customers' products and documentation

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to develop instructions to guide others with written, oral communication skills. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in varied situations is required.

Pay:

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
