JOB SUMMARY
The Penetrant Inspector (Level 1) is responsible for performing non-destructive testing support functions in accordance with approved procedures and under the supervision of qualified Level 2 or Level 3 personnel. Duties include processing hardware, performing system checks, and documenting process activities in accordance with established procedures. This position does not authorize interpretation, evaluation, or final inspection of hardware. Level 1 personnel shall not perform independent inspection or acceptance/rejection decisions. Additionally, the role includes conducting and recording daily equipment and system maintenance inspections. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required to support production needs Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to:) Reads and interprets written work order instructions, specifications, method of inspection, drawings and blueprints. Performs and records daily maintenance inspection per work instructions. Reviews paperwork and visually inspects parts for cleanliness. Performs penetrant inspection to detect, interpret, evaluate, and record type of defects. Generates certification of acceptance and references work orders and logbooks to verify correct quantities of parts accepted or rejected and subsequently forwards to the next operation. Uses instruments to measure the light intensity and inspection tools to inspect the work performed, ensuring proper tolerances are maintained. Use pallet jacks and material handling equipment to transport parts within the department and/or to the next operation. Meets established standards for productivity and quality. Confer with supervisor when problems arise. Responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance withISO 9002 / AS 9100

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Must have practical and technical training to perform the job and be certified as Penetrant Inspector Level I or II, as required, respectively. Ability to read, analyze, evaluate and interpret surface defects as well as documents, work orders, work instructions, specifications, drawings, blueprints and procedures. Ability to add and subtract. Ability to work with jobs that require attention to detail. Ability to read measuring instruments and inspection tools. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule. Education and Experience 3-5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Welding and fabrication experience. Ability to work independently and identify root causes of equipment failures. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics. Preferred (Not Required) Experience in heavy industrial or forging environments. Spanish language skills are highly desirable. Additional Skills Ability to write clear reports and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and tolerances. Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagram-based instructions. Employees are encouraged to provide their own basic hand tools. Specialty tools are provided by the company. Physical Demands The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform this job. The employee must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. Perform physically demanding tasks in a hot, noisy industrial environment. Wear required personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to sit or stand for at least 8 hours per day. Work Environment This position works in an aluminum forging manufacturing facility and is frequently exposed to: Moving mechanical parts Vibration High noise levels (hearing protection required) Heat from forging operations Oils, airborne particles, and industrial conditions Occasional wet or humid conditions Electrical systems and associated hazards Regular presence on the production floor is required.QUALIFICATIONS
