NDT Technician
II - PT / RT / MT
(Liquid Penetrant Testing / Radiographic Testing / Magnetic Particle Testing) Position Summary The NDT Technician II performs nondestructive testing inspections using PT, RT, and MT methods in accordance with customer specifications, industry standards, and company procedures. This position is responsible for interpreting inspection results, documenting findings, maintaining compliance with applicable quality requirements, and supporting production to ensure product conformity. The Level II technician is qualified to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct inspections, interpret and evaluate results, and provide guidance to Level I personnel in accordance with NAS410 or applicable certification requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform PT, RT, and MT inspections on aerospace investment castings and related hardware. Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment. Interpret and evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable specifications, drawings, and acceptance criteria. Identify, document, and report nonconforming conditions. Review work instructions, travelers, blueprints, customer specifications, and quality requirements prior to inspection. Process parts through penetrant, radiographic, and magnetic particle inspection operations according to approved procedures. Develop and verify radiographic techniques where applicable. Ensure proper handling, identification, and traceability of parts throughout inspection processes. Complete inspection records, certifications, and related documentation accurately and legibly. Maintain compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, customer, and internal quality requirements. Assist in maintaining NDT equipment, materials, and work areas in proper operating condition. Support audits and corrective action activities as needed. Train and provide technical guidance to Level I inspectors and operators. Follow all safety requirements related to radiation safety, chemical handling, PPE, and hazardous materials. Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Current or previous Level II certification in PT, RT, and/or MT in accordance with NAS410 or equivalent standard. Minimum 2-5 years of NDT inspection experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures. Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and inspection documentation requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to make acceptance/rejection decisions. Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Experience inspecting investment castings. Familiarity with NADCAP requirements. Digital radiography experience. Experience with ASTM, AMS, and customer-specific aerospace specifications. Certifications Must meet company qualification and certification requirements for Level II personnel in accordance with NAS410 (or applicable governing standard) for: Penetrant Testing (PT) Radiographic Testing (RT) Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity sufficient for NDT inspection requirements, including color differentiation where applicable.
