We partner with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure materials and weldments meet industry codes and project specifications while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality. gillettendt.com Position Summary We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Pipeline Welding Inspector (CPWI) or VT Level II to join our growing inspection team. The inspector will be responsible for performing welding inspections and supporting non-destructive testing (NDT) activities across fabrication shops, construction projects, pipeline projects, and industrial facilities. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys working in the field, and is committed to ensuring structural integrity and code compliance through accurate inspection and documentation. Experience with oil and gas pipeline inspection is a strong plus. Key Responsibilities Perform visual weld inspections (VT) in accordance with applicable codes and project requirements Conduct or support non-destructive testing methods including Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Radiographic Testing (RT) Inspect structural and non-structural welds, machined components, production equipment, and pipeline-related facilities Verify compliance with applicable industry standards including AWS, API, ASME, and ASTM codes Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) Perform welder qualifications and performance testing Document inspection findings and prepare detailed inspection reports for clients Interface with clients, engineers, and project managers regarding inspection results and corrective actions Maintain accurate project documentation and inspection records Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company quality and safety procedures Travel to job sites throughout the region as project needs require Required Qualifications Current CWI or CPWI certification required Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and specifications Knowledge of AWS, API, ASME, and ASTM codes and standards Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Valid driver's license and clean driving record High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or related certifications preferred Preferred Qualifications ASNT Level II certifications in VT, MT, PT, UT and/or RT Experience performing welder performance qualification testing Oil and gas pipeline inspection experience Familiarity with pipeline, structural steel, or pressure vessel inspections Experience working in fabrication or industrial construction environments Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay.
