Job Description

Pressure Vessel Welder — ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 Reports to: Director of Operations A day in this role Picture your workday starting at 6:00 AM. You review the plan with the Plant Foreman and your Assigned Fitter, then set up for FCAW with an emphasis on precise back-gouging. You run code-compliant welds to strict customer specifications, clean each section for inspection, and record your time accurately. Throughout the day, you collaborate with our Internal Quality Control Manager and respond professionally to questions from customer site inspectors and the Authorized Inspector. You keep tools in top shape, follow every safety protocol, and manage your schedule with minimal supervision so work is finished on time and without defects. Before shift end, you complete all required project documentation. What you'll handle Execute welding to meet customer requirements, applicable codes, and accepted industry standards Perform Flux-Cored welding with strong proficiency in back-gouging Work safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations Maintain accurate labor records Clean each completed section for inspection approval Keep company tools in good working order Coordinate daily activities with the Plant Foreman and Assigned Fitter Communicate directly with the Internal Quality Control Manager; respond to customer site inspectors and the Authorized Inspector Work under limited supervision; manage your schedule to deliver defect-free work on time Complete all project paperwork and documentation promptly What you bring Ability to demonstrate welding capabilities through Mason's weld test Capability to obtain and maintain required production weld certifications 3+ years of vessel fabrication experience (a plus) Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1 (a plus) Accurate blueprint reading and interpretation skills Strong teamwork, dependability, and punctuality Proficiencies Driver's License Troubleshooting skills Tape measure reading Forklift licensed Crane operation High School diploma or GED Excellent communication skills Blueprint reading Machines & technologies you'll use Flux-Cored Arc Welder (FCAW) SMAW Welder GTAW Welder Manual Grinder Schedule & employment details
