Job Description

Corrosion Testing Specialist Jackson, MI $23.00 - $25.00/hour Day Shift M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM We are currently seeking a Corrosion Testing Specialist to join our client's laboratory team in Jackson, MI. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the potential for extension or direct hire. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals looking to build hands-on experience in a structured lab environment with strong quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform physical and chemical testing following established laboratory methods and procedures Prepare, document, and evaluate test results with a high level of accuracy Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration, validation, and preventative maintenance Support quality and compliance initiatives, including ISO standards and lab accreditation activities Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace Assist with method validation, gage R&R studies, and troubleshooting as needed Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing testing and improvement programs
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science (or equivalent chemistry coursework) 0-3 years of experience (lab experience in school or work environment acceptable) Exposure to wet chemistry techniques such as titration, pH, conductivity, or similar methods Basic understanding of analytical instrumentation (e.g., spectroscopy) Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO17025 or
ISO14001
is a plus Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently Solid communication and problem-solving skills
