This role ensures product integrity by identifying surface discontinuities and supporting compliance with customer, regulatory, and defense quality requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform liquid penetrant inspections in accordance with NAS 410 and
ASTM E1417
Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results in accordance with acceptance criteria Set up and verify inspection processes (surface prep, penetrant application, dwell time, development, and post-cleaning) Ensure all inspections meet internal procedures, customer specifications, and defense quality standards Maintain inspection records with full traceability Verify calibration and proper functioning of inspection equipment Support nonconformance investigations and corrective actions Provide technical guidance and oversight to Level I inspectors, as needed Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve inspection and quality issues Comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Required Qualifications Current Level II certification in Liquid Penetrant Testing (NAS 410 required) High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred) Minimum 2-5 years of relevant NDT or manufacturing inspection experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Basic computer skills for reporting and data entry Vision requirements per NAS 410 (including near vision and color differentiation) Preferred Qualifications Experience in defense or aerospace manufacturing Familiarity with additional NDT methods (MT, UT, etc.) Experience in ITAR-controlled environments Experience supporting high-reliability or mission-critical hardware Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to handle parts and inspection equipment Comfortable working with penetrant chemicals (with proper PPE) Work Environment Manufacturing/shop floor environment Exposure to penetrant inspection materials and processes
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
