Job Description

Performs a variety of technical duties in the area of Cathodic Protection (CP) and if applicable offer support to staff engineers/supervisors. Performs CP testing, design and Pipeline Integrity related assessments. Performs field operations and maintenance of cathodic protection and corrosion control systems. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others.
Corrosion Technician I:
($27.46 - $34.32) High school diploma/GED and one year of Cathodic Protection experience; or Two-year technical degree; or Two years of post-high school training from an approved math or science/technical trade school.
Corrosion Technician II:
($30.70 - $38.38) NACE CP Level 1; or NACE Corrosion Technician Certificate; and Two years corrosion mitigation experience.
Corrosion Technician I:
NACE CP Level 1; or
NACE Corrosion Technician Certificate Corrosion Technician II:
Associates degree in technical related field. Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage, or unauthorized access. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered. Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks. Requires extensive travel (50%+). Required to maintain a valid driver's license. Assists staff and supervisors in a variety of tasks associated with construction, operation, maintenance, pipeline integrity and Cathodic Protection (CP), which may include: preparation of construction authorizations, layout and design of facilities, material orders, construction supervision, cathodic related surveys and equipment. Conducts tests to identify shorts and continuity tests in CP systems. Uses test instruments to perform a variety of field tests such as structure-to-soil potentials, voltage and current measurements, soil resistivity, pipe/cable locating and rectifier readings. Evaluates effectiveness of CP systems and initiates maintenance, replacements or enhancements when required. Performs annual/periodic CP surveys, confirms effectiveness and ensures regulatory compliance of WBI's pipeline system. Assists with special studies, cost and budget estimates, reports or other projects as may be required. Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
