Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QCT Weld/MT (Quality Control Technician specializing in Welding and Magnetic Particle Testing) on structural welds to identify surface and near-surface discontinuities in accordance with applicable codes, standards, procedures, and customer requirements, as well as inspecting fabricated assemblies to verify dimensional accuracy. The inspector evaluates inspection results, documents findings, and ensures product quality and compliance with industry standards. Duties Perform Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) inspections on structural steel, weldments, fabricated parts, and components according to applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications. Support training and guidance of Level I inspectors when applicable.. Set up and operate magnetic particle inspection equipment using wet and dry methods, visible and fluorescent techniques. Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, technical drawings, and inspection procedures. Conduct inspections before, during, and after fabrication or welding processes to ensure compliance with quality standards. Perform fabrication inspections on assemblies to verify dimensional accuracy. Identify and evaluate discontinuities such as cracks, seams, laps, inclusions, and other surface or near-surface defects. Interpret and document inspection results in accordance with applicable acceptance criteria. Maintain accurate inspection reports, testing documentation, and certification records. Verify inspection equipment is functioning properly and report calibration or maintenance needs. Ensure compliance with ASNT, ASTM, AWS, customer, and company quality requirements. Follow all company safety policies, inspection procedures, and OSHA standards. Collaborate with Quality Control personnel, fabricators, welders, supervisors, and production managers to resolve quality-related issues. Assist with audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives as required. Skills Strong understanding of ASNT recommended practices and industry standards. Ability to interpret codes, standards, and engineering drawings. Knowledge of magnetic particle inspection techniques and equipment. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to work with little or no supervision Ability to communicate well both verbally and written. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Regularly lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in varying temperatures and environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
Pay:
