Position Overview — Certified Welding Inspector We're seeking AWS Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs) to support our growing pipeline of infrastructure and structural projects. In this role, you'll perform inspections in a fabrication shop in Schenectady, NY and contribute to the ongoing development of welding quality assurance processes at AEIS. What You'll Do Quality Assurance & Inspection Perform visual and destructive weld inspections to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1/D1.5, ASME, and DOT standards. Monitor welding operations and ensure procedures and personnel are qualified. Identify and document weld defects and non-conformities. Conduct MT and UT inspections where certified. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate inspection records and generate professional reports using our proprietary software, designed to report welding and NDT inspections. Verify and review WPSs, PQRs, and Welder Certifications. Contribute to quality documentation systems. Collaboration & Process Improvement Work closely with project managers, welding engineers, and NDT staff. Participate in process optimization reviews and corrective action reports.
