Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hydrostatic Cylinder Testing Technician to join the team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for conducting rigorous hydrostatic tests on cylinders to ensure they meet strict DOT safety and quality standards. Your expertise will help uphold our commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality service that adhere to industry regulations and standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced testing equipment, travel to multiple cities in the South East region, and ensure the safety of those keeping us safe. Responsibilities Perform hydrostatic testing on cylinders following established procedures and DOT codes & standards. Prepare cylinders for testing by inspecting for surface defects and ensuring proper setup using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and schematics. Conduct non-destructive testing methods to verify structural integrity without damaging the product. Collect and analyze data during tests, documenting results accurately for quality control records. Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances. Perform quality inspections throughout the inspection process to ensure compliance with DOT specifications and standards. Skills Fast pace work setting, ability to multi task. Ability to bend, squat, and step in and out of an enclosed trailer 50+ time a day . Ability to lift and move steel cylinders weighing excess of 200lbs. Basic computer and data input skills. Friendly, hard working, and respectful. Skilled in using hand tools, calipers, and micrometers. Knowledge of quality control and assurance practices, including inspection techniques and data collection methods. Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods to evaluate product integrity without causing damage. Excellent analysis skills to interpret test data, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
