Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with expertise in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), specifically Ultrasonic Testing (UTS) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT). This vital role involves ensuring the integrity, safety, and quality of manufacturing components through rigorous inspection and testing processes.
TRAVEL REQUIRED.
Duties Conduct thorough inspections of fabricated components using NDT methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UTS) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) to detect flaws or discontinuities. Perform visual and dimensional quality control inspections utilizing hand tools like calipers, micrometers, and schematics to verify adherence to specifications. Apply surface mount technology techniques during assembly processes, ensuring proper placement and soldering of electronic components. Review technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation to confirm compliance with design requirements and ASME codes & standards. Collect, analyze, and document inspection data accurately for quality assurance records, supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Utilize mechanical tools such as hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and soldering equipment to assist in assembly and repair tasks. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify root causes of defects, recommend corrective actions, and ensure ongoing quality compliance. Qualifications Certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with demonstrated proficiency in Non-Destructive Testing methods including UTS/MT. Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards related to welding, pressure vessels, or piping systems. Mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing environments involving surface mount technology and assembly processes. Skilled in performing quality inspections using schematics, technical drawings, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools. Experience with data collection, analysis skills, and maintaining detailed inspection reports for quality assurance purposes. Familiarity with quality control principles including quality assurance practices within manufacturing settings. Ability to operate hand tools effectively for assembly tasks such as soldering or component placement. Experience with structural steel, bridges, or DOT project a plus.Job Type:
