Kinetik employees have decades of experience in West Texas and provide all the important services our customers need to deliver gas and crude oil production to market, which include gathering, transportation, compression, processing and produced water management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers the corrosion control program and oversees damage prevention field operations for company pipeline systems. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures mandated by state and federal pipeline safety regulations. This position reports to the Corrosion Manager Provide internal corrosion technical expertise, training, qualification evaluation, and continuous guidance to operations, engineering and management personnel. Conduct comprehensive inspections and assessments to identify potential corrosion risks and vulnerabilities. Perform detailed data analysis to monitor corrosion trends and patterns and use this information to optimize preventative maintenance programs. Advanced qualifications in internal corrosion control and integrity management regulations. Advanced qualifications in the design of internal corrosion control systems. Provide a high level of internal corrosion control technical expertise and problem-solving for complex internal corrosion control, including site reviews, gas quality, analysis of corrosion coupons, liquid/solid sample analysis results interpretation, maintenance pigging, and other general internal corrosion monitoring and treatment systems. Coordinate activities of vendors providing internal corrosion control analysis and chemicals. Coordinates and directs daily activities of maintenance pigging crews. Assists with maintenance pigging in operational areas where direct oversight by this position is not provided as needed. Coordinate field activities supporting company Damage Prevention and / or Public Awareness programs as directed by the position supervisor. Knowledge, skill and ability to defend the company's technical and procedural positions related to internal corrosion control activities and represent the company in an agency audit, inspections, or enforcement action. Participate in new facility design and commissioning. Assists in the preparation of design for facility modifications and incorporation of new equipment. Facilitate installation including modifications to designs to meet functional requirements. Provide technical expertise in the selection of materials and products while optimizing costs effective solutions and coordinating with essential personnel. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Manage and maintain Internal Corrosion related records in an organized and structured manner. Work Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required 10+ years of in-depth corrosion control experience and working knowledge of internal corrosion monitoring and mitigation of natural gas, crude oil, and natural gas liquid pipelines. Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated solutions to issues impacting integrity, reliability and/or compliance. Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal direct supervision. Working knowledge of various Federal and State pipeline regulations including Integrity Management regulations. Ability to effectively manage priorities while working with various types of people. The candidate will be a self-motivated and self-directed individual with good communication and computer skills. Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience BS in Engineering is preferred (Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgy). Working experience and application knowledge of various pipeline industry related standards such as API, ASME, NACE, NFPA, and CSA, preferred. Knowledge of DOT regulations and standards (49 CFR Part 192 & 195
Working Conditions:
Will be working in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. Will work outdoors in adverse or extreme weather conditions. Will be required to frequently drive to other field facilities within their assigned region. Available outside of normal working hours as needed for business necessity.
