Key responsibilities include handling NDT contractors, preparing procedures and ensuring documentation, performing as an authorized inspector, and ensuring safety policies are followed for welding and NDT operations. Qualifications required are to be in accordance with ASNT Level III certification andT9074-AS-GIB-010/271
manual in conventional and specialized NDT methods, 10 years of inspection experience, and supervisory experience. Duties and Responsibilities Oversees assigned shipboard NDT inspectors and continues to promote team cooperation. Administers shipboard NDT quality problem management process including monitoring and reporting on problem resolutions and root cause as required. Interface with internal and external customers regarding NDT technical and production testing issues. Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the methods in order to meet industry and customer expectations for NDT operations Prepare and approve NDT procedures and other related NDT work instructions. Conduct training and examination of NDT personnel. Perform documented over-inspection (Technical Performance Examinations) of Level II NDT personnel. Assists in the development and conduct of NDT related training. Works closely with customers, managers and production personnel to assure adherence to quality standards. Review and ensure timely and accurate updates to task order Test and Inspection Plans (TIPs). Review and manage call-ins and completion of shipboard inspection tickets. Assist with the development and management of theQA/NDE/ISO
overhead and direct budgets. Assists in the close out of all QA documentation for customer review or audit when requested. Assist in the development and review of Test and Inspection Plans (TIPs) and reports for various projects. Perform all other duties as assigned.Experience Requirements:
10 years of prior experience in NDT as an inspector, supervisor, manager or other related role. Previous experience as an NDT Level III Examiner with at least 3 years of NDT Level III experience. VT, MT, and PT qualifications with UT (preferred). Strong knowledge in shipboard installation and/or repair. Ability to read prints and drawings. Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Item (series) Working knowledge ofNSTS 9090.310
(series) High School diploma or higher education Basic knowledge of computers and use of software like MS Office Keen attention to detail.Other Requirements:
Must be able to obtain a government facility security pass. Must be able to pass a Drug Screening, and Work Ability Screening. o Able to withstand environmental factors such as: Outside weather conditions High, precarious places Exposed to fumes and airborne particles Very loud noise level Required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis.
