RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform and document required safety checks on cranes, tools, and testing equipment at the beginning of each shift and throughout operations. Conduct hydrostatic testing by plugging vessel openings, filling tanks with water, pressurizing, and monitoring results. Perform pneumatic testing in accordance with SOPs and work instructions. Visually inspect vessels for leaks, pinholes, weld deficiencies, and other nonconforming conditions; clearly mark defects as required. Inspect fittings, brackets, and welds prior to testing. Accurately record required test data in the traveler. Interpret pressure gauge readings and calibration data to ensure testing accuracy. Monitor condition of hydrostatic and pneumatic test equipment and report maintenance or supply replenishment needs. Perform spray ball testing and passivation processes as required by procedures. Operate cranes and hoists as needed for material handling upon completion of required training. Prepare vessels for shipment, including skidding, banding, and moving per work instructions and drawings. Assist with stock vessel testing and shipment preparation as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform housekeeping duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE
Pneumatic and hydrostatic testing equipment. Pressure gauges and calibration verification. Weld inspection tools, including fillet, groove, and multi-use weld gauges. Cranes, hoists, and related material-handling equipment.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED required. Basic reading, writing, and math skills required. Ability to understand, follow, and comply with all safety rules, procedures, and policies. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail. Willingness and ability to become VT (Visual Testing) and PT (Penetrant Testing) certified. Willingness and ability to obtain crane certification. Willingness and ability to obtain confined space certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Good manual dexterity, good eye/hand coordination. Close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, required. Capable of wearing PPE for an entire shift, including; safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes. Frequent light lifting, raising objects under 15 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from one position to another. Frequent moderate lifting of objects 15 to 45 pounds.
