Job Description

MUST BE A US CITIZEN. ONE OF THE WORLD'S LARGEST AEROSPACE MANUFACTURERS. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: HBE processes involve automated and manual nondestructive inspection of products using UT, PT and ET primarily in the Cold Draw, Plate and Chip Shop departments. The position is responsible for ensuring that the NDT department procedures and processes meet the quality standards of HBE's Quality system, all customer requirements, and NADCAP standards. This role has the responsibility for the
NDE LEVEL III
functions of a technical nature e.g. training, examination and certification of personnel, procedure preparation, customer audits and NDE spec reviews for NDE requirements on order inquiries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Achieve and maintain
NADCAP NDT
accreditation. This position is the focal point for
NADCAP NDT
at Huntington. o Lead the preparation of checklists, gap analysis, completion of gap-closure actions. o Review and update / develop procedures to meet
NADCAP NDT
standards. o Review and address equipment needs to meet
NADCAP NDT
standards. o Train level I and level II operators to
NADCAP NDT
standards. o Carry out pre-audit observations. o Coordinate NADCAP audit scheduling / logistics. o Lead NADCAP audit and post-audit actions. o Participate in NADCAP meetings as needed.
  • Continuous improvement: implement best-in-class ultrasonic inspection technology for robust quality control and productivity of the ultrasonic inspection processes.
  • Lead the development, revision, distribution, training and application of NDE equipment and methods for SMC products as required.
  • Provide NDE technical expertise to SMC Product Engineering, R&D personnel and customers as required.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs. Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility. Perform all physical functions of position; standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 50 lbs. Meet established attendance standards. Work overtime as needed. Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Use simple arithmetic including decimals and fractions. Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules or similar information. Use precision measuring instruments, test equipment or other devices where interpretation is required. At least 2 years Certification in NDT RT Level I and Level
II PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, turn, talk, and/or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
