Job Description
Holtec International seeks qualified applicants for the Valve Engineer position in its Systems Engineering department with the Company's Corporate Engineering division located at the Company's KPS Technology Campus in Camden, NJ. This department is the company's center of excellence in the field of system engineering, supporting a number of Holtec subsidiaries including SMR, LLC, which is engaged in designing Holtec's flagship small nuclear reactor. Pipe-Flo, HTRI, MathCad are amongst the most widely used codes in this department. Valve Engineers are engaged in the development of requirements and specifications for a variety of valves for various systems in nuclear power plants. If assigned to work in the SMR-300 program, the associate will support engineering and licensing requirements, leading to the licensing and construction of the first SMR-300 plant. BS in an engineering discipline. In-depth knowledge of valve design, operation, maintenance, and testing considerations/procedures. Experience in developing and/or reviewing valve procurement specifications for nuclear power plants. Familiarity with valve maintenance impacts on power plant outages. Familiarity with ASME BPVC, valve and actuator design standards, API, MSS, and nuclear quality assurance requirements (e.g., NQA-1). Knowledge of NRC regulations related to mechanical components in nuclear facilities. Excellent technical writing, interpersonal and effective communication skills. Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Mechanical or other engineering discipline; Experience working with engineers and vendors/manufacturers to develop designs and drawings Knowledge and understanding of valve diagnostics; familiarity with different valve actuator types Experience with design certification, construction, or operation of a nuclear power plant; experience working in the nuclear energy field; EIT and/or PE certification. Annual compensation based on skills and experience ranging from $100,000 - $130,000 Additional compensation earned through incentive structureBenefits:
