Job Description
Description Responsible for providing technical expertise in support of nuclear plants. Performs advanced engineering tasks or other special projects requiring original concepts and a high level of experience and expertise necessary for the operation of nuclear units. Works independently performs engineering tasks with little or no precedence acts as a consultant to supervision. Ability to apply nuclear industry standards and regulations for new situations. Has management skills for facilitation of team actions for problem solving including conflict resolution to assure progress. Provides backup for supervision. Specialized Engineering Functions will be mentioned as per requirement:
Electrical/IC Engineering:
Power systems ladder logic safe shutdown analysis computational toolsETAP EDISON.
Mechanical Engineering:
Pumps valves heat exchangers pipe stress analysis ASME standards.Civil/Structural Engineering:
Seismic qualification pipe supports GT Strudel welding rigging.MOV Valve Engineering:
Diagnostics troubleshooting valve program management.Education:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required PE preferred.Relevant Experience:
6- 10 years of experience in complex engineering tasks and handles broad nuclear plant engineering responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Develops and verifies design change packages evaluates system performance and resolves plant operational issues. Review Configuration Management CM Engineering Change EC packages and database updates.Other:
Expertise in 10CFR50.59 ASME code and regulatory compliance standards. We are seeking experienced Mechanical Electrical and IC Engineers with backgrounds in nuclear power plant design engineering to develop minor modification engineering change packages for our active facilities. Ideal candidates will possess subject matter expertise and demonstrate familiarity with the NEI Standard Design Process.Key Responsibilities:
- Design modifications for upgrades and obsolete equipment issues with varying complexity.
- Oversee system modifications across multiple vendors engineering disciplines and interfaces between legacy and modern systems ensuring both nuclear safety and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate project execution with operations engineering teams external vendors and regulatory agencies acting as the primary technical contact.
- Apply the NEI Standard Design Process and nuclear configuration management principles to ensure modifications comply with relevant technical standards within the assigned discipline.
- Mentor engineering personnel on nuclear electrical/IC concepts digital technology applications and nuclear design change practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or IC Engineering.
- Minimum of four years of nuclear power plant experience including at least two years working with the NEI Standard Design Process for an operating nuclear utility.
- Familiarity with discipline-specific codes and standards.
- Experience with 10 CFR 50.59 Applicability Determinations and 10 CFR 50.59 Screening processes.
- Strong understanding of nuclear power plant systems.
- Excellent technical leadership communication and stakeholder coordination abilities. Experience Level Expert Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of West Palm Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00
